Georges Vezina
Georges Vezina was a Canadian hockey goalie. He signed with the Montreal Canadiens in 1910 and played in 327 consecutive regular season games and a further 39 playoff games. He earned the nickname the "Chicoutimi Cucumber" for his calm, cool composure in goal. He died of tuberculosis in 1926 at the age of 39. Vezina was one of the original 9 inductees when the Hockey Hall of Fame opened in 1945. The Vezina trophy is given annually to the outstanding goalie in the NHL.
